Over the past two years, SME Safety, in cooperation with the German Textile Cleaning Association (DTV) and Small Business Standards (SBS), has been involved in European standardisation work in the field of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and surgical textiles. Building on last year’s very successful forum on PPE and textile care standardisation, the joint initiative is proud to host the 2019 Forum on Circular Economy Models in Personal Protective Equipment on October 24 in SME Safety’s Brussels headquarters.
“Closing the loop” -- Promoting circular economy models In the joint workshop, we are excited to report the results achieved by the joint initiative so far and set the stage for future endeavours. The forum also gives us the opportunity to introduce in more detail the circular economy model of textile services: “closing the loop” in the usage, service and logistics of a product. We want to put special emphasis on the inclusion of sustainability criteria in the standardisation process and public procurement practices.
Join us in our efforts to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability in the standards-making process of Personal Protective Equipment!
